Fikile Mbalula Opens A Case Against Somizi Over Misinforming Statement! On Thursday, a video of Somizi telling co-host Dineo Ranaka that Mbalula had told him the lockdown would be extended circulated on social media. This was before the President’s address to the nation.

“Today, they will be announcing. I just spoke to Fikile,” said Somizi in the telling Dineo who then cut the InstaLIVE. People were not impressed by how Somizi was privy to this information and want him held accountable.

Whilst Somizi retracted his statement saying it was a joke, The Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula has opened a criminal case against Somizi for name dropping and misinformation.

“I did not discuss the lockdown timeline or extension plans with Mr Mhlongo at all whatsoever, my conscience is clear. I have filed my statement and attested under oath to this at Sandton Police Station,” Mbalula announced on twitter.

In a video posted on social media, Somizi apologized to Mbalula and Mzansi for his previous statement. “It was a bad joke on my part….I did say to my colleague later that I was joking and that I never spoke to the minister at any point I was just scaring her…again I’m sorry for the bad joke…and I apologise to the minister for such a dangerous statement,” he said.
