Lesley Musina Campaigning To Have Zim Lift Zodwa Ban! Earlier this week news broke that Zimbabwe government had banned dancer and socialite Zodwa WaBantu from performing at the upcoming carnival in Harare after a Zim actress wrote a complaint to the Ministry of Tourism.
Whilst it seems Zodwa was ready to move on, former Muvhango actor Lesly Musina has come out in full support of Zodwa starting a campaign to have her allowed to perform at the carnival.
Lesley feels that if Anne felt Zimbabwean artists deserve more respect she “could have used her star power to fight for Zimbabwean artists in general to be treated better by their government and not target popular Zodwa”.
“To me this smacks of jealousy and personal hatred on Zodwa, this is covetousness of the highest order. Maybe there’s something I’m not getting, maybe Anne is scared that Zodwa will steal her boyfriend,” Lesley wrote.
Lesley says Zodwa has a huge following in Zimbabwe and should be allowed to perform there just as Zimbabwean artists are allowed to perform in SA.
“I’m now starting a campaign to have the status quo reversed, allow Zodwa back into Zimbabwe as a matter of principle.”
