Somizi Mhlongo has caused a stir on social media after he turned ManB’s birthday event into a total “mess” in East London.
The popular media personality was booked to host the event but only stayed briefly to greet the crowd before leaving for another gig in the same city. This left fans and organizers confused and angry, as Somizi had been expected to stay to honour his booking by being the mc and entertainer of the night.
Feeling upset by Somizi’s actions; the businessman who hosts events, took to social media to express his disappointment. He accused Somizi of not keeping his commitment and using his event as a way to attend another gig in the same city.
In a TikTok video, ManB said, “I used to respect and love Somizi, but after what he did, I hate him now. If I see him, I will slap him. He stole from me!”
He also revealed that he had paid for Somizi’s flights, accommodation, and MC services, but felt betrayed when Somizi left the event early.

Somizi quickly responded to the accusations, denying everything that ManB had said. He explained that he had paid for his own flights, accommodation, and Uber rides, rejecting the idea that ManB had financially supported him.
In another TikTok video, Somizi said, “I’m one of the most professional people in this industry.” He went on to explain that the other event he attended was a paid gig where he was hired to promote it, not just a side job.
Somizi also shared that the birthday event was poorly organized and chaotic, and that other artists who attended vocalized their disappointment as well. Somizi also emphasized that the event organizers didn’t communicate with him effectively.
