Anele Zondo Gives Back to School Children in KwaZulu-Natal

Musician Anele Zondo recently made a heartwarming gesture to give back to school children in KwaZulu-Natal. In a touching post, she shared a snippet of her journey as she distributed school shoes to young learners across the province. Through her initiative, she was able to help children in need and provide them with essential school supplies, showing how a small act of kindness can make a big difference.

In her social media post, Anele expressed her gratitude and shared the inspiration behind her mission. “God is Good… 8 schools in KZN covered on a first drive for 2025, GGT school shoes drive,” she began. She went on to explain how she started the project with a goal to help 500 children with school shoes and essentials. “I came into 2025 with a big ASK—the Lord planted in my heart a mission, to help 500 school kids with shoes and essentials. I knew I couldn’t do this alone, it seemed too big, so I searched for help on my social media platforms using them for positive. I looked to friends, family, and associates and anyone who could help one shoe at a time.”

Anele was overwhelmed by the response. “People really came through for the kids. I was in awe because we did this drive in 5 weeks. We did this with no sponsor, no brand affiliations, solely based on willingness and voluntary help to achieve this goal.” The effort proved to be successful, with eight schools in KZN, including her hometown of Newcastle, benefiting from the donation.

For Anele, the mission was not just about handing out shoes—it was about leaving a lasting impact. “It was about leaving a mark and a seed in a child’s heart,” she said. “I didn’t just drop off, I spoke to the kids, I motivated them and imparted my knowledge—so when they grow, they never forget where they come from and hopefully, one day, plant a seed in someone else’s heart in a good way.”

She also expressed deep appreciation for her team, family, and everyone who supported her mission. “To my team and family & everyone who has stood beside me for this mission, there are not enough words in the dictionary to construct this message that comes from my heart, I’m grateful. To more hope that drives us,” she concluded, inspiring others to give back in their own way.
