In September, South African Rhythm and Blues singer Kaylow, whose real name is Kelello Segoana, was involved in a serious car accident that left him bedridden and unable to walk. Kaylow has since been receiving medical care and is focused on his journey to recovery, sharing his resilience and gratitude with his fans.
“85% of my body can’t move, but my soul is dancing,” he revealed shortly after the accident. In a video posted on social media, Kaylow could be seen being wheeled into an ambulance, expressing his faith and determination. “God is good. Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes. This journey is hard and very painful. I never imagined myself in such a situation, but I assure you I will recover,” he said.
At the time of the accident, his management team shared a statement thanking fans for their support. “Kaylow is hospitalised after the recent accident. Our beloved brother is healing… We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from his fans during this time,” they wrote, adding that he was making progress with loved ones by his side.
The accident happened when Kaylow was driving back from the shops and tried to avoid another car that suddenly swerved into his lane. His car overturned, causing severe injuries to his pelvic area and leading to two surgeries. Despite the physical and emotional challenges, Kaylow remains hopeful. “I am staying positive and being rehabilitated,” he told ZiMoja. “I have hope.”
