Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly set to announce Burundian coach Cedric Kaze as the club’s new assistant coach.

According to reports, Kaze has already put pen to paper with Amakhosi and will replace Fernando Da Cruz, who left the Glamour Boys after just two months to take on a new role with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

Kaze, and the club’s new coach Nasreddine Nabi previously worked together at Tanzanian giants Young African, where they won several titles together.

South African football administrator Senzo Mbatha, who recruited Kaze at Young Africans said Kaze was hard worker, adding that he believes in the science of football.

“He’s a hard worker who believes in the science of football. He’s very focused on planning and analysis.

“Kaze more of a technical coach who likes to drill technique and tactics and works closely with players,” Mbatha told soccer publication FARPost.

The Soweto giants have had a decent start to the new season and are currently in sixth place in the league table with six points.

According to star player Wandile Duba Nabi, Nabi has instilled a new sense of belief and mentality within the side.

“I think the mentality now has changed and the way we want to approach all the games.

“He ( Nabi) does not like players who don’t have a strong mentality, players who don’t want to push,” Duba said.
