In the ever-changing world of beauty, new ways to explore different looks constantly emerge. But who would have thought that you could lift your face before installing your wig for a more “snatched” look? Not me! Join us as we explore this latest trend.

This wig hack is taking social media by storm, with wig influencers and enthusiasts trying it out.

Although installing a wig already gives you a natural “face lift” effect by braiding your hair into cornrows (as the tight braids enhance your face, reducing fine lines), some may still want that infamous fierce “smile with your eyes” look.

The trend involves tapping both sides of your face with face-lifting tape right after glueing on your wig cap, giving you a more sculpted appearance.

TikTok is flooded with tutorials demonstrating the entire process and showcasing the transformation.

Wig influencer Ms_Siya shows how to apply the tapes on this TikTok video.

Don’t have face-lifting tape? Fear not! There’s a budget-friendly DIY hack that saves you from breaking the bank, and you’re likely to find it in your kitchen.

You can use pieces of cling wrap, glueing them on both sides of your face as you would with face-lifting tape, and it provides the same effect.

And what would you know, face-lifting tapes are not entirely new to the beauty industry.

In 1969, Mark Traynor was ahead of the game when he introduced temporary face-lifting tapes along with a face-lifting headband used for facial exercises.

While it may not be a new invention, face-lifting tape has recently gained popularity on social media.
