THE 2024 Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) Awards will be hosted by Unathi Nkayi. The former “Idols SA” judge, one of South Africa’s most celebrated talents, will not only be guiding the evening but also treating the audience to an exclusive live performance.

This year’s AWIEF Awards, happening in Cape Town on November 28-29, will celebrate Africa’s boldest women entrepreneurs and business leaders.

These trailblazers are being recognised for their extraordinary contributions to innovation, gender equality, and economic growth across the continent.

Under the theme of “Future For All: Collaborate for Growth. Solve Inequity. Act on Climate”, AWIEF is set to inspire discussions and spark transformative ideas.

The event will bring together entrepreneurs, policymakers and investors from across the globe, working towards a vision of inclusive growth, innovation and sustainability in Africa.

Nkayi’s presence at the event elevates its significance. She is a true Renaissance woman, known for her work as an award-winning singer, radio host, TV personality, and best-selling author.

Her career has seen her share the stage with global icons such as John Legend and Chaka Khan, and she once received a standing ovation from the legendary Quincy Jones. From summiting Mount Kilimanjaro as a global ambassador to composing songs for an Oscar-winning film, she continues to break boundaries in her professional journey.

The AWIEF Awards have a rich history of recognising women who are pushing boundaries and driving economic growth across the continent. Over the years, the event has featured influential and inspiring hosts and performers who have added vibrancy to the celebration.

Previous AWIEF Awards hosts include well-known South African businesswoman and media personality Bonang Matheba, whose elegance and charisma set the tone for a stellar evening.

The AWIEF Awards honour and celebrate the achievements of women entrepreneurs and innovators across the African continent.
