Big Brother Mzansi season five winner, Sweet Guluva, is making big moves in the entertainment industry. He has been booked as the MC for the upcoming Durban Music Fest, set to take place in May at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. He will share the stage with top artists such as Khuzani, DJ Sox, Sjava, and MaWhoo.
Blue Screens Entertainment, the event organisers, are excited to have him on board. “Sweet Guluva is a man in demand at the moment, and when the opportunity for him to be part of our show came through, we couldn’t resist. So, we are excited to have secured him for the Durban Music Fest,” the company said.
The event promises to be thrilling, with exciting activities planned for the community. Blue Screens Entertainment emphasised their commitment to engaging with the people. “We have many exciting community activations planned, as we truly are a company of the people, and our initiatives reflect that commitment,” they added.
One of the biggest highlights of the festival is a grand prize giveaway. Every ticket holder will have a chance to win a brand-new car, sponsored by Kia. The lucky winner will be announced live on stage by American rapper Rick Ross. With such an incredible lineup and exciting prizes, tickets are selling fast—50% have already been sold.
Ahead of the festival, Blue Screens Entertainment hosted a rap competition for upcoming artists at Rockets in Umhlanga. Nearly 2,000 contestants participated, but only one winner could be chosen—Xavier Thomas.
“I take great pride in all 50 contestants who showcased their talent, as well as the nearly 2,000 individuals who participated in the artist contest. While there can only be one winner, I am thrilled to announce that Xavier Thomas has emerged victorious. He demonstrated remarkable determination throughout the competition and delivered an outstanding live performance at the final four auditions,” said the company.
As part of his prize, Xavier will receive a distribution, publishing, and management contract. He will also make a cameo in Rick Ross’s upcoming music video, which will be filmed in Africa. On top of that, he will share the stage with some of the biggest names in the music industry at the Durban Music Fest on May 3 at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
