Rapper, TV host and actress, Anele Zondo has recently announced that she has bagged a reality show, “Anele Zondo – The Glow Up”, which will air on SABC1.
The mother of one took to her social media pages on Thursday, March 13, to ecstatically announce that she will be giving her fans a glimpse into her life for the very first time as this is her first reality show.
“WELCOME TO MY WORLD. THE GLOW UP. Can’t believe I’m saying this! It’s definitely a pinch-me moment – I’m such a private person, and for the first time, I’m opening up and bringing you inside the world of Anele Zondo and Ney the Bae, who am I? What do I believe in? What drives me?
“Soon you will know – I’m nervous and excited, I’m screaming and crying at the same time – see you soon bae on APRIL 5 – SABC 1 8pm! Set your reminders! Vuka.”

The 13-episode reality show will showcase the behind-the-scenes of Zondo’s career, friendship and family dynamics as well as how the rapper navigates motherhood.
Zondo shared in a statement this new reality show is all about getting to know more about her not only as an artist but as a mother, daughter, sister and friend.
What drives her, what keeps her grounded, what it takes to be in her shoes, and what it takes for people to see the glamourous pictures and the moments on screen?
Ofentse Thinane, the channel head of SABC1, shared: “The SABC1 strategy has always connected audiences to South African stars and shared realities.
“Reality shows showcase parts of the personalities not seen in the public eye. ‘Anele Zondo – The Glow Up’ will be following in a successful line of reality shows having broadcast on the channel, from ‘Zahara’, broadcast in 2023, followed by ‘Vusi Nova – Unprovoked’ in 2024.
“We welcome back Anele Zondo onto the channel and hope audiences enjoy the journey,” Thinane said.
In the trailer, she shares how she navigates her personal as well as professional relationships.
Rapper Nadia Nakai also appears on the show, confronting Zondo at a restaurant about her pregnancy,
She says, “I asked whether you are pregnant and you mized me (ignored me).
Nakai is part of the Netflix reality show, “Young Famous & African”, and she also has her own reality show, “Nadia – Beyond Bragga”, which plays on MTV (DStv channel 130).
We get a glimpse of what appears to be a therapy session that the teary Zondo is in and she talks about working hard so that her daughter lives well.
Celebrity friends as well as fans congratulated the “Ingwe” hitmaker for landing her first reality show.
