Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos says he enjoyed his meeting last week with Rassie Erasmus, and was keen to pick the Springbok boss’ brain as he prepares the team for World Cup qualifiers.
Bafana Bafana are in camp this week as they prepare for two World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin. Should Broos and his men pick up maximum points, they will make massive strides in booking their spot in next year’s global showpiece in North America.
For now, Broos will be accepting any help he can get. And, who is more qualified than the two-time Rugby World Cup winning Bok coach Erasmus, who led his team to victory at the 2019 and 2023 tournaments in Japan and France?

“It was a very nice meeting, we agreed that we will see each other in the future to discuss about how I manage a team, how he manages a team, so I was very happy to meet him,” the Belgian Broos said about his meeting with Erasmus, as per iDiskiTimes.
“He invited me, if I can, if there’s no Bafana Bafana game or whatever, he invited me to come and see a game and even come a few days on training with them. So I’m very excited about it.”
Taking to social media, Erasmus said about the meeting: “Not a long chat, but certainly learned a few things I will try to implement! Dankie Hugo Broos ! Lekka.”
Bafana Bafana, who are second in Group C with four games played, are level on points with leaders Rwanda and third-place Benin.
Erasmus, on the other hand, is beginning his preparations for a gruelling season ahead, which will see the Springboks go up against the All Blacks in two Rugby Championship Tests in New Zealand.
