WATCH: Passenger swallows rosary beads mid-flight to battle ‘Satan’s disciples’

Air travel is wild these days. One minute you’re settling into your seat, the next, a fellow passenger is swallowing rosary beads and drop-kicking flight attendants.

That’s exactly what happened on an American Airlines flight, forcing the plane to turn around mid-air.

Now, for those who don’t know, rosary beads aren’t just a piece of jewellery. They’re used in Catholic prayers and are considered a symbol of faith, protection, and spiritual connection. But swallowing them? That’s a new one.

The man in question, 31-year-old Delange Augustin, apparently started acting up shortly after takeoff.  At first, a flight attendant thought he was having a seizure, which was understandable, given he was stomping, yelling, and shaking.

But things took a turn when another crew member checked on him. Augustin responded by kicking the attendant so hard that they flew across the aisle, landed on another row of seats, and hit the far window. Yes, that much force.

According to an FBI affidavit, Augustin claimed he swallowed the rosary beads to protect himself from “Satan’s disciples”, who were trailing him as he boarded the flight.

Now, to be clear, “Satan’s disciples” aren’t just a dramatic phrase.

In many religious beliefs, they refer to demons or dark spiritual entities. His sister, Medjina Augustin, later confirmed that they were trying to escape “spiritual attacks” and that swallowing the beads was an act of spiritual warfare.

After kicking a flight attendant into another dimension, Augustin’s behaviour only got worse. As the plane made its emergency return, he stormed to the front before the doors had even been opened. At that point, fellow passengers had to step in and help restrain him.

Once they landed, airport police took over, sending Augustin to a hospital before he was finally booked into a detention center.

This isn’t the first time bizarre things have happened on flights. Over the years, passengers have reported everything from ghostly figures in empty seats to people having full-blown breakdowns, claiming there’s something sinister in the cabin.

Who can forget the infamous Tiffany Gomas, known as the “crazy plane lady,” who was caught on camera freaking out over a passenger she claimed was “not real”? Girl, bye!

At this rate, I’m not even sure I want to be catching flights.
