Kaizer Chiefs forward Ashley du Preez said attracting interest from European clubs was one of the reasons for playing the game.
The 27-year-old is believed to be on the radar of Portuguese outfit Victoria SC, according to Soccer Laduma.
Having joined Chiefs in 2022 after spending his formative years with Stellenbosch FC, Du Preez may be ready for the next step in his footballing journey.
With Chiefs preparing to take on Cape Town City in the Betway Premiership at FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening, Du Preez welcomed discussion of his career ambitions. Kick-off is at 7.30pm.

“Definitely, it motivates you as a player. There is a reason why they are interested in you as a player, and all you can do is work on the team you’re currently with,” said Du Preez.
“This is a big club, Kaizer Chiefs, so focus has always been here.”
Du Preez went on to explain that the best way to secure a potential move was to keep progressing with Chiefs.
“I want to improve and help the team win as many games as we can, and for me as a player, to improve on scoring goals and help the team win. As a player, you set goals at the start of the season.
“But then when things like injuries come along, and all that, you need to reset and refocus and start getting back on goals.”
Chiefs are currently eighth on the log, with Cape Town City just behind in 10th. Chiefs, though, are actually only four points behind third-placed Stellenbosch FC, and securing a third-place finish this season is certainly within their reach.
