Actress Deli Malinga Seeks Financial Help to Attend Kenyan Awards Ceremony

Actress Deli Malinga, best known for her villainous role in Mzansi Magic’s recently cancelled telenovela Umkhokha: The Curse, is reaching out for financial assistance to attend an awards ceremony in Kenya. Malinga has been nominated for the prestigious African Female Actor of the Year award at the Ladies In Media Awards (LIMA), which celebrates excellence among women in media.

The LIMA Awards are dedicated to honouring and uplifting women in the media industry, providing platforms for young, talented women to grow their skills through mentoring and coaching. This recognition is a significant achievement for Malinga, who has garnered a loyal following for her standout performances, especially her memorable role in Umkhokha: The Curse.

Taking to social media, Malinga shared a heartfelt message, expressing her gratitude for the support she’s received from her fans and supporters throughout her career. “I just see God in all of this. To all of you out there who appreciated my work from day one and supported me throughout my acting journey. I am because of you,” she said.

Malinga also took a moment to thank various groups that have helped her along the way, including her home city of Umlazi, the Durban Film Office, the KZN Film Commission, and the production teams behind Umkhokha: The Curse. “Thank you so much, [I am] not only representing Umlazi D, Durban film office, KZN Film Commission, Umkhokha: The Curse production and producers, Mzansi Magic or MultiChoice, but South Africa as a whole,” she said.

However, Malinga expressed the challenge of funding her trip to Kenya. “This is a big announcement; the sad part is that participating will be fully on me. I wish I could get sponsors to go to Kenya.” She closed her message with a humble request, stating, “Any kind of help would be highly appreciated when raising the South African flag in African states (As nominated FOR AFRICAN FEMALE ACTRESS OF THE YEAR).”

With her nomination, Malinga hopes to continue representing South Africa and her industry on a larger stage.
