In a move set to transform the travel landscape within South Africa, Air France-KLM has officially signed and implemented an interline agreement with local carrier CemAir.

The partnership marks a significant step in expanding connectivity to several destinations across the country, leveraging Air France-KLM’s major gateways in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

The agreement enhances the travel experience for passengers by allowing them to book combined itineraries on a single ticket.

This means that travellers can now link long-haul international flights with regional routes operated by CemAir.

The move aims to enhance connectivity and convenience for business and leisure travellers in the region.

With reduced connection times, passengers are now encouraged to explore both new and familiar destinations throughout South Africa.

Travellers can now link long-haul international flights with regional routes operated by CemAir, simplifying the journey and fostering a level of convenience not previously available.

Wilson Tauro, country manager of Southern Africa at Air France-KLM, said: “Air travel is all about connecting people and this partnership with CemAir significantly enhances our ability to serve South African passengers.

“By using our well-established gateways in Johannesburg and Cape Town, we can now offer a broader network of destinations, ensuring our customers enjoy a more efficient and comfortable journey, whether they’re travelling for business, leisure or family.”

CemAir’s chief executive officer, Miles van der Molen, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating: “We are delighted to partner with Air France-KLM, a name synonymous with elegance and quality.

“Our interline agreement provides our customers with convenience and savings as they can now seamlessly connect from our flights to the vast global network of this founding member of the airline industry.

“Partnerships are key to our success and working with market leaders like Air France-KLM is a further demonstration of our commitment to our customers to provide the best service and value possible.”

This interline agreement forms part of Air France-KLM’s broader strategy aimed at boosting regional connectivity while offering comprehensive travel solutions designed specifically for South African travellers.
