Controversial music executive Nhlamulo Baloyi, better known as Nota, has been released from prison.

His recent social media activity shows that he is back in town, with Instagram stories poolside and looking for Thanksgiving plans.

“Who’s hosting us for Thanks Giving dinner? Christmas is too far,” he wrote on X in reaction to the news that he is back home.

Baloyi had reportedly been sentenced to 60 days of direct imprisonment for contempt of court. His arrest is linked to a “defamation of character” civil suit involving notable rapper K.O (Ntokozo Mdluli).

Baloyi is reported to have served only two weeks of his 60 day sentences and is now “in house detention with high-risk supervision until January 2025”.

Last year, KO, who was a close friend of the slain musician Kiernan “AKA” Forbes Forbes, unleashed his lawyers on Baloyi who allegedly made damaging statements about him following AKA’s death.

On numerous occasions, Baloyi publicly targeted K.O., insinuating that the musician failed to safeguard the late rapper AKA, as well as alleging that K.O.’s brother Siya Mdluli was implicated in AKA’s tragic death that happened last year

Baloyi ignored the court order obtained by rapper K.O to refrain from sharing information implicating him in the assassination of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes.

The matter caught up with Baloyi as he was arrested this November at Randburg Magistrates Court while appearing on a different matter. He is currently embroiled in a sexual assault case involving actress Itumeleng Bokaba.

The rape case against Baloyi has been postponed to 28 January 2025.

Baloyi’s supporters are rejoicing over him being out of prison bars and have been commenting on his posts.
