Kamo Mphela wins Musician Game Changer Award at Glamour Women of the Year 2024

Amapiano sensation Kamo Mphela has solidified her status as one of South Africa’s most dynamic artists after winning the prestigious Musician Game Changer Award at the Glamour South Africa’s Women of the Year Awards 2024.

The annual awards took place at Summer Place in Hyde Park, with some of the country’s top business figures, creative talents and influential personalities such as award-winning actress Leleti Khumalo, singer Makhadzi and even Olympian Tatjana Smith.

Glamour hailed the artist as a “powerhouse,” underlining her role in reshaping the soundscape with her unique blend of amapiano, dance and pop music.

“With her unique voice, electrifying stage presence, and anthemic hits, Kamo has captured the hearts of fans worldwide.

“Known for her unapologetic authenticity and style, she continues to push boundaries, not only as a musician but also as a cultural icon. Her unstoppable rise is a testament to the power of owning your voice and setting trends that others follow.”

Following her win, Kamo took to Instagram to express her gratitude.

Other notable winners included Kat van Duinen, who won the Fashion Designer Game Changer Award, and DJ Zinhle, who received the prestigious Editor’s Award for her contributions as a multifaceted entrepreneur.
