Netflix Disaster Holiday Promises Laughs and Family Drama This December

Get ready for a festive laugh! Netflix’s new family comedy Disaster Holiday is set to premiere on 13 December 2024, bringing a hilarious tale of family feuds and unexpected chaos.

According to TRUE LOVE, the story follows Joseph Ngema (played by Kenny Nkosi), a wealthy man trying to create peace between his two wives, Dora (Tina Jaxa) and Nandi (Lunathi Mampofu). Frustrated by their constant clashes, Joseph plans a family holiday to help them bond. But instead of harmony, their getaway turns into a series of laugh-out-loud disasters.

The star-studded cast includes Tina Jaxa as Dora, the fiery first wife; Lunathi Mampofu as Nandi, the determined second wife; and Deli Malinga as Rose, a tour guide who tries to salvage the disastrous vacation.

Tina describes her character as a strong-willed woman who isn’t afraid to assert her dominance. “I’m in control in this marriage, and there’s nothing you can tell me,” she says of Dora’s no-nonsense attitude.

Reflecting on her performance, Tina shared, “There were moments where I felt like I was being myself, Tina, instead of Dora. It made the role even more enjoyable.”

Lunathi plays the younger second wife, who brings warmth and love to the family dynamic. “I bring love! [Dora] brings the drama, and I definitely bring the love in the whole equation,” she laughs.

Although comedy isn’t her usual genre, Lunathi says working on Disaster Holiday was a rewarding challenge. “It was a beautiful experience, and I’m so grateful for my fellow cast members who supported me through it. Yazi bekumnandi, ngesiXhosa!” (It was nice, as you would say in Xhosa.)

Deli plays Rose, a know-it-all tour guide who tries her best to keep the family holiday on track. Speaking about her role, Deli says, “I had to act like I know it all and assist them, showing them the place. It was such a fun experience!”

She found the role relatable and enjoyable, saying, “It wasn’t difficult for me. I just had to relate to what I see in the townships.”

Kenny portrays Joseph, the man caught between two clashing wives while juggling his love for family and his obsession with money. “This is a guy that’s really trying so hard to bring his family together, but he’s also very concerned about money,” Kenny explains.

Describing the film, Kenny adds, “It’s a beautiful movie, very family-orientated. I’m talking grandmothers, daughters, and grandkids watching in the same room. I hope people will enjoy it.”

Disaster Holiday promises a mix of heartfelt moments, laughable mishaps, and family fun. According to TRUE LOVE, this is the perfect movie to bring families together this festive season.
