Tebogo Thobejane calls Mac G out for disrespectful remarks and podcast mockery

Earlier this year, former “Muvhango” actress and social media influencer, Tebogo Thobejane, made headlines when she decided to relocate after receiving death threats and surviving a shooting incident in Morningside.

Along with the move, she parted ways with Mac G’s “Podcast and Chill” platform to pursue her own podcast journey.

Thobejane then relaunched her podcast, “City Girls with Tebogo Thobejane”, saying in an interview with “Sunday World”: “Podcast outgrew my capacity. Seeking a fresh, international vibe, I decided to structure it my way. Despite Mac G being great, we mutually concluded that starting my own channel would be the best move.”

Recently, Mac G shared details of a private conversation on his show, revealing that Thobejane had asked for help boosting her YouTube podcast, which was struggling with low views.

Instead of the support she was hoping for, the influencer found herself on the receiving end of jokes as Mac G and his team had a good laugh at her expense.

In a fiery response, Thobejane expressed her disappointment with how Mac G handled the situation.

“It’s incredibly disappointing to see Mac G use his platform to mock and disrespect me, all while trying to make business deals through his podcast. Despite the success of his platform, it’s disheartening that he took advantage of a situation where I put everything on the line.”

In addition, she revealed that she wasn’t even paid for her appearance on the podcast. “I was never compensated for my time on the show,” she said, “and I personally covered the costs for my hair and makeup.”

In true Thobejane fashion, she threw in some sass, reminding Mac G that she’s no pushover.

“I have never been one to settle for mediocrity or low engagement in anything I do, and I refuse to be demeaned. Mac G, don’t even try me – I’m a peaceful person but I won’t tolerate being disrespected.”

Her decision to relocate to Dubai was spurred on by safety concerns but she also ruffled feathers when she complained about the high cost of living, particularly for that infamous R300 burger.

Despite the challenges she’s faced, she is standing firm, pushing back against what she calls media exaggeration and demanding respect.

Her feud with Mac G, Thobejane is proving once again that she’s not someone to mess with. Whether it’s facing death threats or social media shade, she’s making one thing crystal clear: she’s not here for fame, she’s here for respect.
