Earlier this year, award-winning actress Candice Modiselle was born again.
Modiselle was baptised in May but, prior to that, she made the decision to commit to studying The Bible.
The “Battle Of The Bridesmaids” presenter has been steadfast in renewing her faith, and recently took to Instagram to update her fans and followers on how the journey has been.
“I just came on here to just share this massive milestone moment for me. It’s personal, but it’s definitely worth sharing,” she said.
She continued to share that she was 270 days into reading The Bible and was just four books away from completing the “Old Testament”, and 96 days away from finishing the entire Bible.
“Many of us have been able to justify our way out of reading The Bible, it’s traditional, it’s archaic, it’s boring, it’s laborious …
“We’ve also had the convenience of being able to outsource a number of revelations through the teaching of the word when we go to church on Sundays, through multiple platforms, podcasts, sermons, Instagram reels, feeling like we’ve done the heavy lifting, when in fact it robs you of such a beautiful opportunity of being able to know the lengths and the depths of God’s love for us, to understand his law, to appreciate his grace …
“You can’t really claim to love a God you don’t know and you can’t necessarily know a God you’ve never read about …”
Modiselle said she was privileged to have undertaken this journey and encouraged others to do the same.
“It’s so beautiful and I really would encourage you … It will change your life, it really will … Anyway let me continue to celebrate, God bless,” she ended.
