International star DaBaby, real name Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, is now using his platform for something meaningful – mental health awareness.

The rapper recently launched DaBaby Cares, a mental health initiative, in honour of his late brother, Glenn Johnson, who tragically took his own life in 2020.

This initiative aims to tackle the critical issue of mental health, and it couldn’t come at a more important time, as it was launched during Suicide Prevention Month.

The Glenn Johnson for Mental Health initiative, named after DaBaby’s brother, seeks to break the stigma surrounding mental health. Let’s face it, these are conversations we need to have, especially for young people who often struggle in silence.

DaBaby who has a major following is using his star power to create a hub where people can access vital mental health resources and support.

Reflecting on his brother’s passing, DaBaby shared a touching message on the initiative’s website. He opened up about how the loss of his brother which had a huge impact on him, especially on Johnson’s children.

“On November 3rd, 2020, my brother Glenn Johnson committed suicide, leaving behind three beautiful daughters and an amazing son,” DaBaby wrote.

He added that had there been better resources for mental health and self-love, tragedies like his brother’s death might happen far less often.

It’s no secret that mental health struggles are often swept under the rug, especially in minority communities where these discussions are silenced.

DaBaby is determined to change that. Through DaBaby Cares, he’s giving people the tools to tackle mental health issues head-on. He’s committed to breaking the cycle of untreated mental illness and making sure these conversations are part of everyday life.

He’s making sure everyone talks about the important stuff and still keeps us entertained!

In other news, the rapper threw some shade at P Diddy recently, after the whole “baby oil and lubricant” fiasco. If you haven’t heard, Diddy was caught with 1 000 bottles of baby oil in his home, and everyone has been poking fun at him for it.

The rapper joined the party by hilariously purchasing a load of baby oil bottles himself. He even posted a video showing him dumping baby oil out of a grocery bag onto a sidewalk, likely for an upcoming music video.
