South African women are filled with joy that Springbok star Makazole Mapimpi is starting a family of his own, but many ladies will be left heartbroken, as the try scorer officially goes off the market.
On Thursday, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus explained Mapimpi’s absence for the upcoming match in Cape Town against the All Blacks.
During the press conference, Erasmus explained that Mapimpi was away as his wife was giving birth, and they of course didn’t want to keep him away from the special moment.
The news quickly went viral, with many fans realising that the heart throb is officially off the market and left wondering when did he even get married.
Mapimpi has kept his dating life private which is why many were surprised that he is not only a husband but also a father.

Amid all the heartbreak that Mapimpi is off the market, many fans are overjoyed for the Sharks rugby player, as this means now he has a family of his own.

In 2004, the sportstar’s mother died in a car accident. Mapimpi and his siblings were then taken into his grandmother’s care after his dad abandoned their family years before.
Five years later, his sister succumbed to an illness in her brain. Not long afterwards, his brother was electrocuted by electricity cables.
During a 2021 interview with The Telegraph, he said, “I’ve been through a lot.
“When people spoke about family stuff, when I was young, I would keep quiet. It would hit me. I would realise that I didn’t have this at home.
“Little things like that would touch me and it would make me go quiet. Sometimes it would stay with me for a few days.”
Erasmus in an episode of “Chasing the Sun” shared an emotional story about the jerseys worn during Rugby World Cup, where players had pictures of their families embossed on the back of their shirts but Mapimpi had no one.
“He only had photos of himself,” said a choked-up Erasmus. “Because he didn’t have anybody else.
“He doesn’t play for one thing, he’s just got a massive heart,” added Erasmus.
