After having played three league games without a win, Kaizer Chiefs are back on the field as they host AmaZulu at the FNB stadium, they come into this game after a 1-0 defeat to TS Galaxy last Saturday where we saw disgruntled fans throwing missles into the field as they express displeasure as their team is not doing well.

Knowing exactly that the fans are not going to accept anything less than a win since they have started on a bad note, Amakhosi managed to get an early goal on the 3rd minute after Ashley Du Preez’s pace was too much for Usuthu’s defense, he initiated an attack on the left side and his cross landed on Pule Mmodi’s right foot and he found the back of the net.

Having conceded in the early stages of the game, the KwaZulu-Natal based outfit settled into the game and started to play with purpose, they took control of the game but they were not creating scoring chances, they were in possession of the ball for a better part of the game as they seek an equalizer, but there was always that threat of a counter attack.

There was a moment of madness which was started by Mduduzi Mdantsane and Ethan Brooks after what looked like some nasty tackles, there was a lot of pushing around as tempers flare, but the situation was calmed as the officials and other players managed to calm the players to restore order on the field of play.

Very few scoring chances were created as these teams made sure that they stay focused and defend well, however, AmaZulu were looking very lethal as they search for that important goal, they nearly found an equalizer on the 42 minute when Msimango was sent to the cleaners by Moremi and Brendan Pietersen was well positioned to make a save.

Usuthu nearly pulled one back after Moremi once again found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper after they launched a counter attack, he wasted the chance as his shot was way above the cross bar, it did not trouble the goalkeeper at all.

The visitors continued to cause problems for the host through Moremi who broke down from the left side of attack, he managed to beat the offside trap before unleashing a thunderous shot, luckily for Chiefs, Peterson was called to produce a save which rebounded on Wayde Jooste who’s shot was way over the bar.

Mmodi completed his brace on the 60th minute after a lovely Interchanges of passes between him and Potsane, he toe poked into the back of the net to give Amakhosi a two goal lead.

Fan favorite Castilo sealed the victory with a header from a corner kick, his goal made sure that Molefe Ntseki gets the first league win of the season.
