Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana legend Lucas Radebe is a happy parent as he penned a touching message to his son Lucas Jr on his 22nd birthday on Monday, 13 February.
Lucas Jr is the first born child of the football icon with his late wife Thobela Silver who is following his father’s footsteps by looking to become a professional footballer.
The former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana centre back defender hailed his son Lucas Jr in a heartwarming post on his official social media account for the man he has become.

On Monday, Lucas Radebe took to his Instagram account where he shared a series of photos where he documented the life on his son namesake from his early childhood days up until now.
As part of his caption, the 53 year old Soweto born retired footballer penned a touching message to the birthday boy where he wrote, “Happy birthday to my amazing son @radebe_jr! You’ve grown into an astonishing man and I couldn’t be prouder of the person you have become. Happy birthday Junior!

When it comes to Lucas Radebe’s football career, the former Kaizer Chiefs centre back defender who was part of the 1996 Bafana Bafana AFCON triumphant squad did not only earn cult status in South Africa but he also made a name for himself at Leeds United in England where he made over 250 appearances.
According to his player profile on German website 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘵, “Rhoo” or “The Chief” as he is affectionately known as made 251 appearances during his eleven year spell at the Yorkshire based outfit and he rattled the back of the net two times.
