Moses Tembe, father of the late Anele “Nellie” Tembe, has shared his heartfelt condolences to the Forbes family in the wake of the tragic loss of Kiernan Forbes, also known as AKA. Tembe extended his condolences to the parents of the late rapper, Tony and Lynn Forbes, as well as to Kiernan’s daughter Kairo and the rest of the family.
“The news of Kiernan’s passing has come as a shock to us all,” Tembe said. “As a parent, I can imagine the profound pain and grief the Forbes family must be feeling. Kiernan was a remarkable and talented musician who left a lasting impact on South Africa’s music industry and the African music scene as a whole.”
In addition to extending his condolences to the Forbes family, Tembe also expressed his sympathy to Kiernan’s fans, who have lost a talented and inspiring artist. “His music will forever be remembered and will continue to enrich the cultural tapestry of our country and continent,” he stated. “May his soul rest in peace.”
The rapper was tragically taken from us along with his friend and former manager, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, in a shooting incident outside a restaurant in Durban on Friday evening. The Wish on Florida restaurant, where the shooting took place, has also expressed its sincere condolences to both the Forbes and Motsoane families on their loss.
