Laconco Opens Up On Why Her Relationship With Former President Jacob Zuma Came To An End. We have come to know and love Laconco as a cast member of Real Housewives Of Durban, but there is a lot more than meets the eye to the businesswoman. Nonkanyiso “LaConco” Conco has spilled the tea on her failed marriage with former president Jacob Zuma and why it came to an end.
LaConco previously shared her reasons for joining the reality show were because the world had the wrong perception of her and she wanted people to know her for who she really is. In the latest episode of Showmax’s The Real Housewives of Durban, the Ingan’ yam host shared that her split with Zuma still weighs heavy on her heart and doesn’t think the emotional scars will ever heal..
The reality star also revealed she had accepted the disadvantages that come with having a relationship in the public eye and was later disappointed to find that she would be a single mother raising her son with the help of her mom.
“I never knew I would be at a stage where I am raising my son with my mom. I never fell in love to be in the situation I am in today. I don’t think the scars will ever heal,” she said.
LaConco said she really loved Jacob and wanted to keep their relationship private, however, there were always people chiming into their relationship, thinking she was there for the money and fame. After facing a lot of critisism from the public, LaConco knew that she had no choice but to accept the reality of things.
“The position I am in, I found love and I stayed true to that love. But unfortunately, there were people who had an interest in that love and made it a public thing when it was not my intention. No one gets into a relationship, especially if you are young, to face circumstances I went through. I had to come to a point where I had to accept the situation and these are the circumstances. OK this is it,” she said.
In 2018, the country was shookth after learning that Jacob Zuma would be marrying the then 24-year-old Nonkanyiso Conco and had paid lobola for her in preparation for marriage. In the same year, Laconco who was Zuma’s seventh wife gave birth to their son on April 12th which is the same birthday as his father.
