Mbedu has been selected in the Best Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Movie category for her role as Cora on The Underground Railroad. Other actors nominated in the same category include Anya Taylor-Joy, Cynthia Erivo, Elizabeth Olsen, Kate Winslet, Michaela Coel, and Zendaya.
The drama series also scored Thuso another international nod for Outstanding Actress in TV Movie/Limited Series at the Black Reel TV Awards alongside Tessa Thompson, Cynthia Erivo, Michaela Coel, and Nicole Beharie and the masses are holding thumbs that she walks away with the awards.
