Thuso Mbedu Bags Another Major International Award Nomination. If ever there was a “girl on fire” in Mzansi, it has to be none other than the talented Thuso Mbedu. Our homegirl has been working very hard since her Hollywood take over and as predicted, the award nominations are pouring in. It brings us such joy to share that The Underground Railroad actress has now received a nod for yet another major international awards platform and we are here for it.
The amazing news of Thuso having scored a Hollywood Critics Awards nomination was announced through the platforms twitter account and she has been selected in the Best Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Movie category. Mbedu has been nominated for her role as Cora on The Underground Railroad limited series alongside Anya Taylor-Joy, Cynthia Erivo, Elizabeth Olsen, Kate Winslet, Michaela Coel, and Zendaya.
This news definitely came as a delight for many South Africans who flooded the actress with congratulatory messages, hoping that she reaps the rewards of the hard work she has put into her career.
The drama series also scored Thuso another international nod a few weeks ago. The star scooped a nomination for Outstanding Actress in TV Movie/Limited Series at the Black Reel TV Awards. She is nominated alongside Tessa Thompson, Cynthia Erivo, Michaela Coel, and Nicole Beharie.
Thuso also recently celebrated her 30th birthday last week and the whole of Mzansi took to twitter to shower her with love even though she is currently doing her thing in the city of angels. We would also like to congratulate Thuso for her hard work and we are definitely crossing fingers that she takes home every award that she has been nominated for because there is no doubt about her being deserving of them.
Congratulations Thuso!!!
