SA Celebs Come To Thembi Seete‘s Defence Following Reports That She Almost Lost Her Home. This weekend local celebrities came together in solidarity of Thembi Seete’s dignity and reputation, after a well known publication reported on the actress acting swiftly after almost being evicted from her home. According to reports, the actress and musician paid more than R50 000 in arrears to avoid losing her home in an affluent estate in Greenstone Hill, east of Johannesburg.

Lawyers of the Strelitzia complex’s body corporate applied for a default judgment at the Pretoria High Court in January after Seete ignored a letter of demand for her to pay more than R40 000 in levy arrears and other related costs last August. According to court papers, the body corporate appealed to the court after missing 16 payments since March 1, 2019.

“As of the present, you are indebted to and in favour of the body corporate in the sum of R49 741. The amount is made up of levies, collection costs, interest, and other charges. Kindly take note that if you elect to ignore this letter or refuse to make payment as requested, we hold instructions from our client to institute legal proceedings in the recovery of the aforementioned amount” the court papers said according to the publication.

The amount accumulated to R52 036 by the time the Gomora actress settled the account, and the court also ordered her to pay 15.5% interest on the debt. Thembi‘s manager has since confirmed that the matter has since been sorted. SA celebs have commented on the publication reporting on the article sharing how unnecessary the article was.

Many celebs shared how there are far more important things happening in the country including corruption and the pandemic to be reporting on such trivial things. The celebs have labeled this as a smear campaign and demand an apology on behalf of the veteran singer and actress.
