“Gay’s And Lesbian’s Don’t Share The Same Space” Bujy Addresses The Outrage Of Inviting An Abuser On His Podcast. A few days ago, media personality and podcaster Bujy Bikwa was dragged on twitter for inviting a well known abuser in the LGBTQI community Obie Mavuso to his YouTube show Queer Way Of Life With Bujy. Viewers expressed their outrage of the show giving her a platform to speak whilst knowing of her GBV acts toward her ex wife.

This caused Bujy to trend for a number of days and apparently he was called and attacked on social media and on away from the platform as well. The month of June is Queer month and the Podcast is making sure to start of on the right foot. On the latest episode of the podcast, Bikwa addressed the backlash he received from the community after the episode featuring Mavuso aired.

According to Bujy, people seem to think that he knows everything about everyone in the LGBTQI community whereas its not true. He then goes on to reveal that he was not aware of the violent acts that songwriter and rapper Obie Mavuso was accused of committing to his wife, and only knew her through her popular artistic work projects.

“When you google Obie you will find everything music about her and her art work from Cape Town. Nothing says Obie is an abuser, she abused her wife and did this but there is no article about that. There is one thing that you guys don’t know and that is gays and lesbians don’t share the same space so if it’s not a TV celebrity couple i won’t know” he said.

Bujy continued to clarify that couples that are well known in the lesbian community are not well known in the gay community therefore making it hard to know what was happening with whomever’s marriage. Bujy shared that he had no idea of the abuse allegations and simply invited Mavuso purely based on her work. He further added that he is glad that things turned out the way they did because, it served as a learning experience for him.
