Black Twitter Outraged Over Boity Receiving A SAMA Nomination Over Makhadzi And Other Popular Musicians. The SAMAs (South African Music Awards) have announced the full list of artists that have been nominated across 40 category’s on social media. Although the nominees are well deserved , the masses can’t help but feel that some of the snubbed artists are more deserving of the nod than other’s.
Since the announcement, the awards platform has been trending on twitter and not for the right reasons. A public outcry is underway as tweeps feel that Makhadzi should have received the coveted nomination instead of Boity who has been nominated for Best Hip Hop Album category for her latest eight tracked EP 4436. Although the Bakae hitmaker has expressed how the nomination has been one of the goals set for herself, the masses where not impressed.
“I GOT A SAMA NOMINATION FOR BEST HIP HOP ALBUM” Boity wrote.
Aside from Makhadzi, the masses have also questioned how the TV personality bagged a nomination over popular hip hop artists such as Emtee, Cassper Nyovest and more. This has also lead the masses to dig up previous video’s of Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha and other artists who have spoken on the SAMA’s corruption and low quality standards.
