Rea Gopane Releases Official Apology And Retraction Statement To Bonang Matheba After Making Drug Use Allegations. When lawsuits come into play in the public eye, people are quick to retract statements and release letters of apology to the celebrity that they did wrong. This was exactly the case for 22 year old podcast host Rea Gopane, after publicly accusing Bonang of substance abuse.

This is not the only incriminating thing Gopane said during an episode of the Rea And Black Steph Podcast show but he also accused the queen of allegedly influencing rapper AKA to use cocaine. This piping hot tea was apparently spilt to him by media personality and Popcast host Scoop Makhatini also known as Siyabonga Ngwekazi. After the clip made its rounds on social media, B didn’t take too lightly to the accusations and lawyered up.

After many failed attempts at trying to get Rea to publicly apologize and retract his statement, Bonang responded to the tarnishing clip with a letter from her lawyers demanding that the YouTuber publicly apologize’s to the media mogul via all his social media platforms and also pays her a settlement of R500K on account of defamation of character.

Rea and all the accused have been trending since yesterday and today it seems, as Gopane not only released a written apology to Bonang, but also posted a video begging for forgiveness from Bonang, AKA and Scoop of which he also dragged in to the situation. In the video, Rea claims that he will use this incident as a learning curve to produce better and positive content going forward.

As stated in my letter of undertaking, I would like to express my sincere apology for everything I said on our podcast dated (9 May 2021). I would like to unequivocally retract my statements and apologize to all the parties concerned namely Ms Bonang Matheba, Mr Kiernan Forbes and Mr Siyabonga Ngwekazi. I know and understand that the podcast could cause harm, and I am deeply regretful for my mistake. I have learned from my mistake and will do better moving forward” Rea said.

Clearly B is not about to let things slide very easily because even though the 22 year old YouTuber apolgized numerous times, Bonang still wants her money and let it be known on the comments section of the above video. The streets of twitter have since been split, claiming that there is no need for Bonang to flex her muscle on Rea because he is just a kid. While other’s are all for the Moguls actions, claiming that a 22 year old is a grown man and therefore he should be dealt with accordingly.
