Losing a loved one is one of the hardest things that anybody would have to go through in life, more especially when a parent has to bury their child. Award winning vocalist Nhlanhla Nciza also went through the same fate in 2009, after the death of her daughter.

The Mafikizolo group member took to social media to celebrate her late daughter Zinathi on what would have been her 17th birthday, and shared a special video of herself and her son Luvuyo holding a portrait of her in celebration of her heavenly birthday. Nciza wished her heavenly angel a happy birthday, claiming that she will always love her until they meet again.

“Happy 17th heavenly birthday to my beautiful little angel in heaven Zinathi. I love you with my entire soul and I know you know that. Rest peacefully my darling daughter, until we meet again and I can hold you I’m my arms again” she wrote.

The singer’s followers and friends flooded the post with well wishes, sending their love to her and the rest of the family. Nhlanhla’s daughter, Zinathi was killed in a car accident in 2009 when she was just six years old. Since her passing, the musician has made sure to celebrate her life each year on her birthday with a heartfelt message dedicated to her. On What would have been Zinathi’s 15th birthday, Nciza pored her heart out in a sentimental post.

“She would be 15 today, our beautiful princess Zinathi. There’s so much I wanna say but the words fail me. Can’t believe it’s been 9 years. My heart is filled with so much so much pain as if it were yesterday when you left us. But in the mist of it all I, thank God for giving me the best 6 years of my life. I love you now and forever more my angel. Happy 15th birthday my Zinathi iNtsikelelo Nciza. MaRhadebe omhle, Ndlebentle zombini. Rest in eternal peace.” she wrote.
