Watch! Emotional Zozibini Tunzi Takes Her Final Walk As Miss Universe. The past weekend was one to remember for now former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi as she handed the crown over to this years winner. She may have handed her reign over to a new queen but, as previously mentioned by social media, Zozi will forever be our Miss Universe.
The emotional day saw Tunzi and Demi Leigh Tebow as the host the preliminary show of the pageant. This year, Mzansi was represented by 2nd Miss South Africa runner up Natasha Joubert who looked stunning although she was knocked out of the competition in the Top 21.
Before the crowning of the new Miss Universe, Tunzi had people in tears as she took her last walk as the reigning Miss Universe. Dressed in a beautiful beaded black and white gown, Tunzi sashayed down the runway while her final speech was playing in the background.
“My Miss Universe win is my ancestors’ wildest dream. We are now in a world where a black African girl from a country that is only 27 years into democracy can represent them on the global stage. I want to honour them for fighting for my freedoms so I could be where I am today” she said.
26 year old Andrea Meza from Mexico took the title of Miss Universe on Sunday and was crowned by 2019 Miss Universe, SA’s Zozibini Tunzi at the pageant’s glam finale at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Viewers had a hard time holding back their tears, at the sight of the gorgeous pageant queen. Congratulations to the queen on making a change since assuming her position as Miss Universe, and just like everybody else, we can’t wait to see what come for her in her next chapter.
