Bassie is a dedicated mom to her three children and her middle child who is turning a year older.
Taking to social media, Kumalo penned a sweet a heartfelt birthday message her son uShaka Kgositsile Emmanuel Kumalo who recently turned nine years old. In the lengthy note, the proud mom opened up about the many unsuccessful attempts at conceiving before she was blessed with healthy babies.
uShaka was also a premature baby who came out at just 34 weeks and showed an immense fighting spirit and was determined to make it. This is why the Former Miss South Africa and her husband Romeo Kumalo named their son after the Zulu warrior Shaka Zulu because of his warrior qualities and fighting spirit.
“Nine years ago, I gave birth to an angel My baby, my boy, my Kgosi….you are 9 already and soon to be “double” digits. I had had so many miscarriages before you were born…you were born at 34 weeks and you were determined to make it, and you told me so. My warrior, my brave heart, hence your name is uShaka, the fighter”
“Watching you become your own person, with your own unique personality and love for life is such a delight to witness. I love your great abandon of being fully present in everything you do whether you are playing, doing your school work, jumping into that pool…you are in it to win it. Your fearless spirit Shaka is a true testament of your name” she wrote.
The 47 year old Kumalo continued to share the amazing qualities that she loves about her son as well as her hopes and dreams for Kgositsile on his journey through life. The businesswoman is a women of God who takes pride in the faith she, and believes that her son is a testament of God’s blessings and was put on the earth for a purpose.
“You have the cutest laugh and I love tickling your belly to get it out of you. On this your birthday, my prayer for you son is that Father God continue to be your guiding light , that the Angels of the Living God will always encamp around you and protect you, and great shall be your peace.
