Yesterday was mother’s day, but it was also singer Sho Madjozi’s birthday. The ‘John Cena’ hitmaker took her Instagram account to tell her fans what she wants as a birthday presence.
Fast-rising South African singer Sho Madjozi whose real name is Maya Christinah Xichavo Wegerif, turned 29 yesterday and took her Instagram account to celebrate the special day.
Elated Sho Madjozi went for a horse riding experience in a colourful orange dress. She took to her Instagram account to share her experience and also asked for a rather unusual birthday present from her followers.
“This year I’m only accepting birthday wishes in the comments section of the Jamani music video 📲💃🏽Lov yal xo 💓,” she wrote.

Sho Madjozi is one of the few SA artists who can boast of sharing some of the world’s biggest stages with global icons such as Chris Martin, Cardi B, Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monáe, and The Weekend.
Proud of who she is, her music is inspired by her Tsonga culture and language. She proudly sings in her mother tongue and regularly performs the indigenous dance of Tsonga women wearing a Xibelani skirt.
