Taxi Owner Gunned Down By Hitmen In Mpumalanga

In a sad report, a taxi owner has been left dead after he was gunned down.

Per what we gathered, the incident reportedly happened in Mpumalanga on May 5 and he was killed by some hitmen driving a white BMW car.

This was revealed in a recent statement by the South African Police Service. According to the statement, the taxi driver is a 62-year-old man.

It was revealed that he was walking in the street with his friend when a white BMW which was occupied by four men inside drove by them and fired multiple shots at him killing him instantly.

He was only a few metres away from his house in Tweefontein Extension when he got gunned down.

Immediately, an ambulance and the police were contacted by his friend who was walking with him and upon their arrival, the friend told the police everything that happened.

As we speak, the police have opened a case of murder and are on the hunt for the suspects who committed the atrocity.

As at the time of the report, the reason why he was killed remained unknown, however, it is being suspected that the murder might be related to the taxi industry’s rivalry between different associations and taxi owners.
