Condolences have been pouring in for SA rapper Emtee and his Record label Emtee Records following the passing of his close friend and manager Lebo.
The record company released a statement on Tuesday confirming the death of Lebogang, who passed away during the early hours of the day.
In the statement, it was stated that the circumstances surrounding his passing will be made known by his family in due course through a formal statement.
However, Emtee Records set the records straight, stating that Lebogang was not with the rapper during his time of death. This after rumours started circulating that the late Lebogang passed away in the studio due to a possible drug overdose.
“In the meantime, we note the unfortunate utterances and speculations that are already circulating on social media around the circumstances of the death.
For the record, at the time of death, Lebo was neither with Emtee nor was he at Emtee’s place or studio.
We view these and similar utterances as inhuman and insensitive to both Lebo’s family and friends in particular Emtee who, at the moment, is trying to come to terms with the loss of a childhood friend.”
The statement ended by asking fans to keep Lebogang’s family, as well as Emtee, in prayer and also thanked them for their words of comfort.
Many of Emtee’s fans took to the comment section of the rapper to share their message of condolence and also pay their last respect to Lebogang.
