South African songstress Kelly Khumalo has taken to her Instagram account to warn fans who follows her on social media with the sole purpose of judging her every post because they assume she is a Gospel musician.

Not holding back her words, the ‘Empini’ hitmaker referred to these fans as self-proclaimed judges when she called them ‘Judge Judy’ and told them that she is “not scared of them.”

“Those of you who call yourselves Christians, stop! Because you don’t even know what you go to church for. ‘Our God, Our God’, Gha! Sies! The very same God that you’re talking about is the one that blesses me on a daily basis because he knows exactly who I am. I don’t try and put up a front.

“I’m no gospel artist and I don’t wish to be. I’m perfect as I am. If you have a problem as a fan it is very simple, f**king unfollow. It is that simple!”

This is not the first time Kelly’s brief gospel stint has brought such criticisms her way. In December 2020, she was seen ranting and expressing her discontent on social medai at the judges and organisers after losing out on a ‘Best Gospel Song Award’ at the Crown Gospel Awards.

Kelly started her music career after rising to fame through the ‘Cruz Gospel’ concert in the early 2000s. She later made a switch to the Afro-pop genre but from time to time collaborate with other gospel artists to record gospel songs.
