The number of new COVID-19 cases in South Africa has been reduced for three consecutive days.
As we speak, a total of 1422 new Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, and 756 and 548 the previous two days.
The cumulative number of cases in South Africa now stands at 1 549 451 with the total number of deaths to 52 897.
So far, 1,474,826, representing have recovered with the total number of tests done being 9 912 073.
On Thursday, Pfizer Inc and BioNTech indicated that their COVID-19 vaccine is around 91% effective at preventing the disease.
