Hip-hop rapper Nasty C, Prince Kaybee, Gemini Major, and Anatii have made Mzansi proud after it was announced will feature on Def Jam Africa’s ‘Rhythms of Zamunda: Music Inspired By Coming 2 America’ album.
The album soundtrack was recently announced and it features many prestigious African musicians including some of Mzansi’s best such as Nasty C, Prince Kaybee, Gemini Major, and Anatii. Njelic and De Mthuda are also on the list.
The CEO of Universal Records South Africa and Sub-Saharan South Africa Sipho Dlamini in an interview with Variety said:
“I started e-mailing and contacting everybody to find out where it was landing. Soon, the team at Def Jam US worked out a collaboration with Def Jam Africa to help curate a whole companion album to the movie’s official soundtrack to showcase a range of African sounds and artists.”
Hence the brainchild of the collaboration Rhythms of Zamunda: Music Inspired By Coming 2 America, which is scheduled for release on March 5. There are 16 tracks from artists in the African continent on the album according to the publication.
