Metro FM Suspends DJ Fresh For Foul Language On Air: Black Twitter Reacts! If you woke up this fake Monday wondering why you couldn’t hear DJ Fresh’s voice on Metro FM’s Breakfast Show, it’s because the big dawg has been taken off air, temporarily.

This comes after DJ Fresh used the word “m*unery” on air, according to Sunday World. This on-air rant in which DJ Fresh used profane language reportedly happened on May 20 2019. In the same rant he told a listener to stop “tweeting out of his a**”.

One of the show’s listeners, Daniel Mokwa laid a complaint with the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of SA (BCCSA) stating that the presenter had used strong language. A suspension letter seen by Sunday World was sent to DJ Fresh on Tuesday and reads as follows:

“It has come to management’s attention that you have been allegedly involved in activities and conduct that are in breach of your independent contractors agreement and have brought the SABC into disrepute with reference to the following amongst others:

“@During the broadcast of Fresh Breakfast on Tuesday 21 May 2019, you said “what Msunery is this”, and “tweeting out your ass” in reference to a listener’s tweet.

“@ On or about 6 June 2019, you allegedly further engaged on a matter relating to the above, with a listener on social media, allegedly further bringing the reputation of the organisation into disrepute.

“Management considers the above conduct very serious and contemplates action against you for contravention of clauses 5.4.2; 5.4.3; 5.5.”

“Please further note that in line with the provision of clause 13.2 of your independent contractors agreement, you will not be scheduled to render any services, pending the outcome of the investigation and finality on the matter.”

DJ Fresh had defended himself a week ago on twitter saying Somizi and Relebogile had also used the same language and had not faced any consequences.

The SABC said it was “currently investigating the issue to its full extent”. Here’s how listeners reacted to Fresh’s suspension on twitter.
