‘The Boy Can’t Act,’ Says Dumi Mbebe On Lunga Tshabalala As Lindani On The River! The former Generations actor took to twitter calling out actors who get hired based on their looks and social media following.
This comes after entertainment commentator Phil Mphela shared how model and TV presenter turned actor Lunga Tshabalala has improved his acting skills since joining 1Magic’s Telenovela, The River.
In response to Phil’s review, Dumi disagreed saying Phil had just gotten used to Lunga’s acting not that he had gotten better.
“Mine is not even a review but the boy can’t act. He’s not the only one! You simply got used to him,” Mbebe tweeted.
Remember we had a chat about how reviews are to the subjective taste of the reviewer? You had said something about being pissed off about your reviews of their shows, I think? Mine is not even a review but the boy can’t act. He’s not the only one! You simplu got used to him!

The seasoned actor who has been MIA fro the small screens added that acting was not about having people who are just easy on the eye but do not do the characters justice.
“I’ve been in that position before, as producer, where the channel has editorial powers and we end up with wannabe actors that have 100s of thousands of followers on social media but dololo acting,” he added.
We need characters that are good to look at because of all the intricacies, not actors that are good to look at at the expense of the character. Character is of paramount importance and that is the job of the actor. Some actors don’t grow. The a\udience gets used to them.
