Uzalo’s Simphiwe Majozi Reveals How Being Carless Almost Cost Him His Job! He’s known for stealing and driving fancy cars on the hit how but in real life Simphiwe Majozi is just a normal actor who didn’t allow his fame to pressure him until it almost cost him his job.
In a recent interview with TshisaLIVE, Majozi revealed how he didn’t own a car when he joined the show and would use public taxis to get to and from work.
It became a problem when fans would queue to take photos with him at taxi ranks which resulted in him being late for morning shoots. Simphiwe says he would agree to taking the photos because he didn’t want to be one of those celebs who think they are better.
“Soon after I joined Uzalo‚ I had to make some lifestyle changes. Like‚ at that time I didn’t have a car so I took taxis to work. Taking the taxis started to become a hassle‚ with so many people putting me under pressure‚ you know asking questions and asking for pictures. It was not wrong in any way and I couldn’t even blame them,” he explained.
“It took some time before I could get my car‚ so I had to take meter taxis for a while. In fact some of my colleagues said‚ ‘your character is on the peak right now maybe meter taxis is a better option.’ But at least my brother would also help me by dropping me off at work.”
