Khaya Mthethwa Shares What He’s Learnt About Marriage So Far! The Gospel star broke a few hearts when he announced his engagement to former national beauty pageant star Ntando Kunene. Now the singer is opening up about life as a married man and what he has learned from tying the knot.
In a recent interview with DJ Sbu, Khaya said he has learnt to be patient. “I’ve learnt that I need to be more patient, marriage drags the patience out of you. I mean, something simple like when I get out the house I know that I get ready in exactly twelve minutes. But with my wife Ntando, I need to set an alarm. If we leaving at six, I need to set an alarm for half-past four. It’s just a patience thing, it’s just a small thing but it’s amazing…” he said.
After the interview DJ Khaya – who is also a Pastor – went on to give some wise words of wisdom on the subject of marriage. Both for Khaya and the many listeners who joined them.
“(It’s something) that we need to be very prepared for emotionally, financially, physically. You’re living for another person and that can’t be something easy. If your fingers are still in other jams by the time you are getting married, you’re going to have a problem in marriage.”
Marriage problems if not sorted out as early as possible often lead to disputes and even divorce, requiring the expertise of professionals like jennifer croker to sort out the ensuing emotional and financial problems. Therefore it’s important for all parties involved to be as understanding and diplomatic as possible.
DJ Khaya went on to talk about how Christians have sugar-coated marriage and have over-spiritualized something that is very practical. “If you have these tensions in marriage then sort them out practically. No matter how much you pray, no matter how much you read the word, no matter how much you go to church, you’re going to have a marriage problem. Though you might not have a God problem,” he said.
Congratulations oncemore to Khaya Mthethwa and Ntando Kunene for their marriage going well so far. May they continue to be patient with each other and spend the rest of their lives together happily.
