‘Ring of Lies’ crew member fired for racial slur. Channel24 reported that one of the independent contractors involved opted to terminate the member’s contract. This comes after actress Florence Masebe went public on Twitter, saying that a crew member allegedly told the show’s black director “I can speak to you anyway I like because I’m white”.
The show’s art director was not suspended but no longer working on the set since Wednesday after being involved in a nasty verbal altercation behind the scenes and now Mzansi Magic confirmed to Channel24 that at least one crew member is now gone from Ring of Lies.
Production on the show has reportedly continued uninterrupted and Penguin Films and Mzansi Magic continue to engage with the cast and crew. Mzansi Magic says it wants Ring of Lies to be an “empowering working environment for all involved”.
