Controversial Pastor Mboro is still making headlines and it doesn’t look too good for him. Pastor Mboro may face a year in prison after charges were laid against him for failing to co-operate with the Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Rights Commission.
The commission laid criminal charges against the prophet at the Hillbrow Police Station yesterday. He faces the possibility of spending a year behind bars or being fined for failing to provide them with his church’s financial documents.
The commission’s chair, Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva confirmed saying, “According to the Act, he may go to jail for a year, and or be fined. So it’s up to the courts what they want to do about it.”
Other popular churches including the Rhema Bible Church and Grace Bible church were also asked to hand over their financial statements when hearings started last year but only Pastor Mboro has still not filed the documents.
