Bittersweet moment for everyone left behind. One of the youngest news anchors in the country, Tumelo Mothotoane has been scooped by Russia as their International news anchor and correspondent and is set to leave end of March.
Tumelo made the announcement on social media this morning saying, “It is with emotional feelings that I officially announce that I am leaving the SABC end of March 2016”, she wrote.
Tumelo joins a growing list of African talent to join the world’s biggest platfroms like Trevor Noah and Lupita Nyongo. “As from the 1st April 2016, this Pedi, Black, African woman, will be relocating to Europe to join Russia Today TV.”
In March 2014, Lupita Nyong’o won an Oscar Award and said in her speech that “No matter where you come from, your dreams are valid”. In March 2015 Trevor Noah proved to the South African child that “It is possible to achieve the unimaginable” when he announced that he is the new and first African host of “The Daily Show”. It is with emotional feelings that I officially announce that I am leaving the SABC end of March 2016, but a grateful and humbled heart to announce that as from the 1st April 2016, this Pedi, Black, African woman, will be relocating to Europe to join Russia Today TV, on DSTV Channel 407, as their ALL NEW International News Anchor and Correspondent! From Russia, with Love. Tumelo Mothotoane ❤ #BlackGirlMagic #GodisFaithful #ValidAfricanDreams #TheUnimaginableIsPossible
