Kelly Khumalo shares that in 2015 she didn’t expect to experience bad customer service because of her skin colour.
The singer shares that she went to a restaurant with her sister Zandie and to her surprise experienced an awkward environment from the staff and other customers.
The singer shares that as soon as she stepped into the restaurant she could sense the awkwardness and the stares that suggested that”black people are not welcomed there.”
She also adds that she was baffled that in this country there are still places where you’re discriminated against because of your skin colour and where you’re not just seen as a human being.
“I though we’ve come a long way to still see each other as ppl of color instead of just human beings who were created to love and appreciate each other,” she wrote.
The owner’s daughter then reached out to Kelly on her post and apologised for her experience at the restaurant.
