There’s absolutely no doubt that Kelly Khumalo makes great music but, the one part of her life that makes headlines more than her music does is all her relationship drama.

We all know that the Asine singer has had her fair share of men but it seems like most of her relationships won’t work out, with some even saying that she stands no chance of getting married.

Well we glad she got to be a bride last week for a few hours. LOL! (Read that story HERE.)With all the relationships comes a lot of learning we should think and Kelly says that she’s learned a lot of lessons from her past relationships.

Speaking to Mo Flava on The Morning Fix on Wednesday Kelly said: “I think one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that we over-qualify people by expecting more of what they can offer. Or what they are ready for as individuals. You have this superman, the perfect guy that you want out of this man and yet he’s nowhere close to that. And when he does not meet your expectations you get disappointed. But why be disappointed when you over-qualify the person?”

She goes on to add that she also sometimes questions her choice in men: “It’s like I see them beyond what they are and beyond what they are capable of.”

Don’t worry, she doesn’t only go for the rich and famous or the bad boys of the industry, the singer admits that she doesn’t really have a ‘type’.

“As you grow older there’s no qualifications for love. Nobody needs certain qualities. The nicest thing is that at the end of the day we are all human beings and we have our flaws. And the person you pick should be a person you can put up with your flaws…”

And if you were wondering if she’s single or taken, she’s currently not in a relationship and isn’t looking for one. “I am not. I am actually at the place where I’m very happy with myself and I’m focusing my career…”
